Cissy Doll is a fashion doll created by Madame Alexander in 1955. The doll was designed originally as a figure of a young lady from an aristocratic family, with jointed elbowed arms. While Cissy's body and legs with high heel feet were made of hard plastic, over sleeved arms were made of vinyl and are joined at the elbow. Cissy's dolls were manufactured extensively from 1955 to 1962.

The original Cissy Doll, when it was first introduced in 1955 was a 21 inch doll. When Madame Alexander created Cissy Doll, she visualized her doll as a grown up doll that would motivate young girls at that time to grow up as decent ladies. The Cissy Doll celebrated her 50th anniversary in 2005. During commemorative celebrations, a special edition of Cissy Dolls consisting of seven dolls wearing seven different styles of apparel was released. The commemorative selection of Cissy Dolls comprised both Latin American and African versions.

Cissy was sold as a basic doll wearing a chemise (a shirt or a blouse) and high heeled shoes. Chrome-plated clothes racks for Cissy's clothes had all the accessories and fashions that young women of the 1950's had in their closets. A large collection of stylish Cissy Doll's 'undies' or underwear, like petticoats, panties and bras were sold separately.
